Digital Archive – Original Verses

Preservation, Digitisation and Open Access

One of the key areas of activity of New Bulgaria Association is the creation of a digital archive of the original verses of Veda Slovena.

The aim is to preserve the texts in digital format, ensuring accessibility, accurate reproduction and the possibility of systematic research.

The digital archive will provide free access to the original texts for students, lecturers, researchers and everyone interested in this cultural phenomenon.

Main Activities

1. Digitisation of the Original Texts

Creating high-quality digital copies of the original verses and editions while preserving their authentic graphic form and content.

2. Textual Presentation

Preparing digital text versions that allow users to search, cite and work with individual verses and fragments.

3. Systematisation and Cataloguing

Organising the materials by edition, volume, song and other relevant bibliographic and textual criteria.

4. Open Educational Access

Making the digitised materials available to students, lecturers and scholarly communities, subject to copyright and related rights.

5. Integration with Scholarly Research

Enabling the digital texts to be used in comparative research, bibliographic studies, and analyses of language, motifs and imagery.

Preservation Principle

The guiding principle is to distinguish between a digital copy of the original source and its textual representation. This ensures that every research finding can be verified against the primary source.

The digital archive aims to make Veda Slovena an accessible and researchable part of cultural heritage for present and future generations.
